Repub Debate Last Night

Awesome!!!
Let me paraphrase"

"Hillary, Hillary, Blah, Blah, Blah, Hillary...
Democrat's Taxes, Blah, Blah, Blah, Hillary!
Glorious, Victorious, Iraq Forevah!!!!!"

They bankrupt the country of blood and treasure, and this all they have to say.
I would think they would at least say, "OOPS, OUR BAD"

MORONS!!!!

I just about aspirated my herbal tea when I heard Huck claiming that he was tolerant of other faiths, wasn't running on a religiously exclusive platform, etc...

Maybe its something about how they train the politicians in the bush league down there in Arkansas such that they can say one thing in a glib and seemingly sincerely way, while doing the opposite.

First it was I did not have sexual relations... now this.

... Course, they were all doing that. Talking about smaller government, etc... HELLooooo then how do you explain the massive growth of the size of government and reduction of our civic liberties under the Bushes and the Republican Congress the last 20 years.

McCain remains the only one who I think is able to rise above that.

Oh for FECK's sake!

I just heard an interview with the Hucker on TV while I was catching up with my blogging, and there he was, with his puppy dog eyes, seeming so sincerely confused that people are worried about his being a pastor, and trying to turn the tables on us.

As I've said in several of my recent posts over at listig.multiply.com as well as here... being a pastor doesn't disqualify you from anything, but CAMPAIGNING BY PREACHING IN CHURCHES and making "values" the tip of your spear are blatant, egregious, and spine chilling moves towards theocracy! Claiming this nation is God's chosen one, that its always been a Christian nation, is a lie and a distortion of both history and theology.

Indianapolis had a great mayor in the 70s and 80s who had been a Presbyterian pastor... most of us in the circle city neither knew nor cared. I knew because I was (am) both a theological and political wonk, and because my brother was friends with his son. But he never campaigned by preaching in churches, he never laid the God trump card.

Well, never underestimate the power of the right's hatred of the Clinton's. Did you see how the crowd cheered when multiple Flip Flopney said he'd rely on the advice of generals on the field rather than 'General Hillary Clinton?' That sophmoric comment alone just might win the dousche Florida!!!

Of course, with the way Bill and Hillary are behaving right now towards Obama, I think they're not only reviving the right wing's hatred of them, but probably also pissing off a lot of Democrats whose votes Hillary can't afford to lose when running against McCain or Romney.

(Yes, I'm officially predicting that Pastor Suckabee is done, as far as this election is concerned, though he might win a pig-hole like Alabama or Kansas, but that's about it.

Well, if they WEREN'T morons I guess the world would be a better place anyway, so let's not expect the impossible such as them actually realising they are wrong!

No, I didn't see the General Hillary comment, but I saw others similar.

I do think that Dems are starting to understand why the right so hates the Clintons... they are ruthless political fighters who almost always win, whose only unyielding passion is the passion for power.

You can talk about MR flip flopping all over the place, and well enough so, but Bubba ran to the RIGHT of the GOP on some issues, and was more conservative than W on many. He even ditched his wife's healthcare plan (not that I was crazy about it) with no more gravity than one might cancel the subscription to a magazine.

I think you're right that the Huck and Chuck show is winding down.

I basically say a pox on both house/parties. Read my classic liberalism 101 post, and consider whether either party is really a believer in individualism and individual liberties.

One of my multiply friends commenting on the Classic Liberalism post summed it up aptly: "

Conservatives tend to pass laws that are intended to control your fly, that is thay support sodomy laws, cohabitation laws, and the Defensive of Marriage Act,

while Liberals oppose any such laws, and work to tire down any remaining such laws that are on the books.

The Liberal wishes for you to control your fly completely but they do not trust you with your wallet. They feel that the fortunate have an obligation to share with those who missed out on life’s lottery. They support programs like National Health Care, Medicare, Medicate, Welfare, SSI, and the higher taxes required to pay for these programs.

Conservatives general oppose such laws believing that the individual is best suited to decide in a free market where best to spend their money.

The Libertarian would have the individual control both his fly and his wallet allowing him to reap the benefits of his decisions, but requiring him to accept the consequences of his actions"

Rug Goth, saw your friend's post at your Multiply blog! Very insightful! Swamped at work today, so posting time is limited. The Clintons are starting to piss me off, but Obama was on Letterman last night so he gets points for that. LOL. And McCain is the ONLY Republican I can tolerate. Romney just creeps me the fuck out. But that's mostly my gut talking.

Yeh, I've been bringing the true blue philosophical/intellectual classic liberals out of the woodwork over at Multiply. Its like as soon as someone says "Free choice, free choice... Jefferson... government which governs best..." we all perk up our ears like a cat hearing the can opener on her food tin.

When my gut talks, it speaks German.
