The Most Annoying Burger King Commercial Ever
...and you thought the current incarnation of the Burger King was creepy! Remember the early 80s?
Boston Legal Takes on The Supreme Court
...and the fictional character of Alan Shore does what the average American cannot do--tears a new asshole in Bush's fascist Supreme Court!

"The Cool Ones" 1967
Since there wasn't much happening here lately, I thought I'd toss in some nostalgia. Does anyone remember this long-forgotten campy gem from the late 60s? See if you recognize a very young Roddy McDowall. (This was also the only film Mr. McDowall appeared shirtless in...for those gay trivia buffs out there, and he had a rather nice physique, though it doesn't show it in this clip. Roddy was also known in private Hollywood circles for other--ahem--attributes and a particular 'gift' which he sometimes demonstrated before select party guests!)

The Mouse That Roared?
Watched the debate last night. Well half of it until I turned it off in disgust.
Charlie "Dumbo" Gibson and Georgie "Goofy" Stephanopowhoppohotdangdoodlelopolis turned themselves into the most inconsequential gasbags on TV today, a difficult feat today by any means. Why didn't they just don Disney costumes to ice the cake.
Nothing substantial. No policy. All Rev. Wright, Bosnia braggadocio and "elitist" San Fran shit.
Memo to Charlie and Georgie Porgie and Mickey Mouse:
I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT THAT FUCKING FLAG PIN!
To quote Lily Tomlin:
"PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT CAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!"

Remember When 'The Fonz' Lost it?
Okay, okay...I admit, I found this episode of 'Happy Days' while I was looking for Leather Tuskadero's song, but seeing this episode again--Ritchie's girlfriend's horrible acting in the opening sequence notwithstanding--took me back to a time when Scott Baio was not yet 50 and looking for a wife on some crappy reality TV show! (I don't even want to try to remember how old I was when I first saw this.) Enjoy!

Leslie Jordan Speaks at Google
Some of you will recognize him as "Beverly Leslie" in Will & Grace, while others may recognize him as the serial killer taken out by Betty White on Boston Legal. His most famous role was as 'Brother Boy', the cross-dresser who thought he was Tammy Wynette in one of my favorite films, Sordid Lives. (Now if you're really old and a complete fountain of obscure and useless facts, you might also remember him as the 'angel' warning a young man that he had to register with the Selective Service upon turning 18...a commercial which Jordan believed would be short lived, but instead ran for over a decade!) I met him once while working at the ACLU booth at Market Days a couple of years ago and then saw him later that week in his one man show at the Bailiwick, Like a Dog on Linoleum. He really is an engaging speaker as well as an all around entertaining person.

I Wish Sylvester Would Just Eat Tweety
And put us out of our misery, since MSNBC evidently won't!
Here's that friggin' genius journalist Chris Matthews making orange juice instead of coffee an issue against Obama, for chissakes!
Message to GE/MSNBC: What a waste of $5,000,000.00! Check out your 401K's, make some changes, and dump this blowhard.
I hear McCain puts ketchup on his peanut butter and banana sandwiches and eats Italian beef au Jus, the bloody Frenchman. Go investigate that! (It could be true, and, oh yeah, Iraq had Nucular Weapons.)

Friday Orchid Blogging - Uncle Leo & Aunt Molly
(Click on the photos for a larger image)
I took these last Wednesday. Art (the white one, Phalaenopsis Anthura Denver) has been blooming since Christmas. Leo (the spotted one, a mutt of a Phalaenopsis of unknown name) started around March 15 and looks like it may be going til June.
And because of this I went EBay crazy and now have four more on the way. Two more Moth orchids ('cos they are rather easy) and one Cattleya plus a bonus (sellers choice). Decided to try a Cat and if I can pull it off. If I can, they are spectacular.

Willie Ames from 'Eight is Enough' & 'Charles in Charge'
Just in case you were wondering what he was up to after Charles in Charge...our boy Willie was ripping off the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers...for Christ, of course!

Back from Boston and thought I'd share a glance at the Freedom Trail.
This is not my video (I don't have a camera) but at least hope it was warmer there for this guy than it was while I was there.

Great news! Snark and Catie are in the GLBTQ papers, & the best book on sex and disability has been reissued!
I submitted the pictures I took at Snark's 10th to both the Windy City Times and the Free Press. It appeared in last week's Free Press, and will be in today's WCT. I didn't realize how "explicit" the artwork at the Anvil was until I looked at the pictures afterwards. The Free Press chose to publish my "G" rated version... it will be interesting to see what decision the WCT makes.
Catie- I couldn't contact you, so I advised them both to just refer to you as "JC." And speaking of which, Tess is quite eager to meet you, so drop by one of my blogs (toothbrushrugs.blogspot.com and listig.multiply.com) and drop me a line, or call Snark- he has all of our contact info, while I have none for you.

The only place I can find it online is at Early2Bed, Chicago's famous women owned "adult sensuality" shop... which is the place from which you should buy it anyway! The direct link to the book is here
Early2Bed's website is http://www.early2bed.com and if you're in Chicago, its on the far north side, near Sheridan and Foster (do yourself a favor, take the Red Line to Berwyn and walk east, or take the 147... don't try to park!)
That's it. I have no ill will or rancor towards anyone about anything... life's too busy and too short for that. But... my cup runneth over right now, soaketh the carpet, and floodeth the basement. I have so much LIFE, LIVING, and studies which which to catch up due to my protracted illness and Tess' ongoing one, I'm continuing to take a break from here, but these two bits of news seemed well worth sharing!
Haven't even- and won't anytime soon- looked at any follow up comments because I have so muchbigger fish to fry (and I don't even like fish!)
If ya wanna see what I'm up to, check the blogs mentioned above, or drop by the Anvil most evenings after 8... I'm making taking the pups in there for some puppy love during their last walk part of my routine.
