Pomp and Circumstance

at the Royal Albert Hall because Boris says I need something more British to welcome Val. It's also has some great views:

I don't believe I've ever seen so many Union Jacks. Val, What the heck was going on Dec 4, 2006. Part of the Queen's Golden Jubilee?

Good suggestion by Boris! We LOVE pomp and circumstance.

It's The Last Night of the Proms. It happens in September, so I've no idea where the date December 4th comes from. It's the weirdo's chance to be jingoistic. Looks like Andrew Davis conducting, which would be about right. The conductor always manages to do something to amuse the Promenaders, as does the soloist. One year Sarah Walker opened up her arms to reveal wide wing-like panels on her dress showing the Union Jack.

Oh, and the outside scene is probably in Hyde Park. they have a few big screens outside around the country. There is so much demand for tickets they have to be put in a draw. In the park, you just turn up.

Brings a tear to my eye...
