Meet "Mrs. Rug Goth"- still the same despite the pain

OK then, Snark encouraged me to feel free to post more personal things here, and it doesn't get more personal than this. This is my wife Tess. She just started a blog at Multiply and has taken over for me in leading the "ask any religious question" group there- whygod.multiply.com, but she's been really smacked down by her migraine lately, so I suggested she record a VLOG, and this is it.

Sorry the sound levels between us vary so widely... my computer is ancient and I don't have mixing software to adjust the vol. So if you do, feel free to download the file from my multiply site and mix away!

She's sick enough to be in hospital, but she just got out a month ago, and she says that if she's going to be miserable anyway (that stay lasted 2 weeks!) she'd rather be in my arms than in a hospital bed. I can't argue with that, *grin*

She is legally disabled with migraines, and every day she reaches a "10" on the pain scale, but since about last Weds, she never drops lower than that. I've been having to give her intra-muscular injections of various medicines every 4 to 6 hours.

When she has any good time, its in the morning, which is why I've become a morning person, and can't often make it by the Anvil Fridays. Mornings- early mornings- are when she's most likely to be able to walk with me to the lake, tutor me in Spanish, etc.

I can function as a night or morning person, but... as befits a goth (*grin*) day time is regardless not my friend. Its for getting through pretty much.

It's obvious that, not only are the two of you (Rug Goth and wife) very much "tuned in" to one another, but the four-legged children are, as well. I've always believed that the creatures we share this planet with are true blessings, and Hilde and Killian are very representative of that. They sense our pain, and they try, as best they can, to deliver some relief.

OMG, Goth..I just so want to hug the hell out of your wife! When are you guys coming down to Anvil?

Snark- quite so.

BB- thanks, but you'll have to fight your way through me, *grin*

In regards to your question... when are ya'll gonna be there a LOT earlier than 10pm. Tess is usually asleep by 8pm... and its REALLY bad news if she isn't. This video was shot around noon... the pain always gets worse as the day goes on, and if she's not asleep by 8pm, she literally flails away in pain.

A better solution may be to have a "coffee/breakfast" meet-up some Sunday morning (not TOO terribly early, maybe ten-ish?) of all the neighborhood folk posting here. Maybe at Metropolis for coffee? Spouses welcomed! Gunga, Betty, Goth, Catie . . . thoughts? Of course, we'd want to schedule it at a time when Tess was feeling relatively well. I know that Sundays are usually good for her, from what Goth said previously. Although right now she's not doing so well.

Good idea over all, and I appreciate it and would love it, but I have class from 9a - 2p Sundays.

But yeh, right now Tess is unspeakably awful.

Keep us posted on Tess. It sounds like she may have no choice but to go to hospital. I knew you had classes on Sunday, just didn't realize it coincided with Tess' "usually best" time. I know you said mornings are best, but isn't Saturday morning too soon after her weekly pain shot? Let us know if another time might work. I know the rest of us are going in to work at various times on weekdays, from as early as 7:30 or 8 a.m., up to 10 a.m. (yours truly). At any rate, we'll get this worked out some day! LOL

Saturdays are fine... she's usually better the first few days after her pain shots, but right now, she's in status migraine, so... nothing much touches it.

I would think the main problem with Saturdays would be with ya'll not dragging your selves home until 4,5,6... AM, *grin*

Actually, I can usually be asleep by 3 a.m. or 3:30 a.m. after closing on a Friday night (if I down a couple of sleeping pills as I leave the bar at 2:30-ish). Which means I could be up by 9:30-ish. Done it many times before, especially when I had showings on a Saturday morning around 10:30 or 11.
