There is a TV show in the UK with a talented team of impersonators. Jon Culshaw does some great ones, including Dubbya. This one was actually made in the US.
But the Bush/Blair press conference is a classic.
As for this Tom-Baker-as-Dr-Who scene, the sales assistant was set up in an actual store.
Dead Ringers started as a radio show, and Culshaw used to phone up ordinary people in the character of the famous (such as Baker/Dr Who) - one day he even had a long conversation with another British institution, the astronomer Patrick Moore. Strangely, he hadn't heard of the planet Gallifrey.
