More flatus- For whom would Jesus vote ? / A website ya'll'd probably like- www.rightwingwatch.org

The flatus (on Jesus' voting preferences) from http://christiannewswire.com/news/779825576.html ...

SOUTHFIELD, Michigan, Feb. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- In preparation for key upcoming elections, William H. Carney has written a unique preparation guide, How Would Jesus Vote?, published by Creation House, a division of Strang Communications.

Carney starts off by asking a simple question: "If Jesus were a United States citizen, having all the legal rights and responsibilities of voting, according to what standards would he vote?" Carney delicately weaves through ten tumultuous topics, including taxes, same sex marriage, and war and national defense.

What comes through loud and clear in these 61 pages is Carney's passion to help readers not be swayed "by the economy, the media, the current popular opinion, or what is seemingly correct." In discussing each topic, he encourages readers to "not sit outside the political arena." To that end, he arms them with wonderful insight with biblical backing to reveal the truth of how Jesus would vote on each topic.

Concerning abortion, he notes, "It is clearly Satan's agenda manifested in the earth." Cleary, that can be said of any of the topics, particularly prayer in the schools. He writes on that topic: "The major issue with our school system is the government-forced removal of God from our schools. If you add that to the government-endorsed introduction of the 'religion' call Humanism … then you can see why evils like teen pregnancy and violence have increased greatly in our school."

Taking How Would Jesus Vote? to the polls will arm readers with the ability to vote correctly on each issue and turn the tide on humanistic agendas.

I found out about this via www.rightwingwatch.org

My response can best be expressed by this cartoon I made for my multiply blog, and is now one of the "required reading" items for people wanting to join the "whygod" seminar and support group my wife and I cohost there.

More obsessive, religious, polarizing bullshit. Why is it that all these whack-job, uber-right wing so-called "Christians" think that the only way a society can practice decent values is to subscribe to a religion, particularly their own narrow-minded interpretation of "religion." It just makes me puke. I love how all these nut cases are getting their panties in a twist over the fact that the Republican party's emerging presidential candidate is NOT one of their "chosen ones."

Yes, there are candidates and Americans who don't embrace the practice of abortion nor would choose that as the first method to handle unwanted pregnancies, but still maintain that it's a woman's body first and it is her choice.

Yes, there are candidates and American voters who believe our nation had every reason to go into Afghanistan and to still be there, but that the quagmire known as Iraq has become a mismanaged, costly mistake.

Yes, there are candidates and American voters who believe in and support religious freedom, but who also believe in the separation of church and state.

Yes, there are candidates and American voters who believe in personal responsibility, and believe that able-bodied, mentally fit Americans should be working, and not having children they can't support and not living on welfare and handouts, but who also believe that the mentally ill (some of them veterans of war) should be off the streets and treated like human beings.

Perhaps, dear uber-Christians, these are the new Republicans and perhaps they're leaving your fanatical cult-esque "beliefs" behind them in a trail of dust. One can only hope.

Well said, Snark my brother!

My former church body has come to have an increasing number of these types in it. My ecclesiastical supervisor in my first post back in '95 was one such. He hated immigrants, gays & thought AIDS was God's punishment for homosexuality, didn't allow the women in his congregation to much as vote on the color of the carpet... yet had no problem with getting into a car while intoxicated, and while carrying an unlicensed firearm.

I've known ethical lovely atheists, and pious kabroi. To which God you pray, or how, has no correlation to the quality of your character, nor your fitness to lead this or any other country

The Lord should smite him down for taking His name in vain. How DARE he presume to speak for Jesus?

I know I'm only an ex-Christian, but I cringe on the Holy Trinity's behalf.

Val, this ex-pastor agrees with you. Who can speak for God but God? The "left" has screwed this up too... 'What would Jesus drive' for example.

Wow, as a Christian I find this wrong in its own right, these douche bags trying to put words in God's mouth according to what they believe. It's heresy if you ask me.

Bravo, Mike!

People have long tried to use God's Name- which ever name they use for Him- as a cloak for their own ambitions and prejudices.

I got a lot of crap on some friends' blogs for pointing out that Christians have been just as inclined to do evil in God's name as any other faith... its so disgusting and juvenile when people demonize those who believe or act differently than they, and its an utter abomination when they claim God's sanction for it.

Yes, If you wants God's way read the Bible yourself, don't tell everyone he wants what you want.
