Ever wonder what became of "Hans?"

At least we know what happened to William....

Died in combat at 22 years of age. When I was in Germany, I saw many tombstones with pictures like these on them...many still in their teens at the time they died. What a waste...unfortunately, we certainly haven't learned from their example. Vietnam, Iraq???

In retrospect, I guess it took actually joining the military to realize just how expendable we all are to our leaders!

History does repeat itself, and the lifespan and the attention span of the human being are largely responsible. It is sad that the youth in our society must formulate their opinions regarding the "worthiness" of a war based primarily upon their own experiences. But then, this is the inherent weakness on which the powers that be can rely. Let's face it, the history books used in our public schools are about as objective as my opinion of that disgusting, has-been, giant TURD of a bartender and wanna-be diva (whom we all know I hate and despise) on the Granville strip.

The problems with our presence in Iraq, beyond misguided, ill-defined purpose, is it's vast mismanagement, and it's often horrendous treatment of the brave men and women doing the dirty work.

Merely one example: it is estimated that the cost of offering adequate college education benefits to our troops, post-service, would equal the cost of the current war for one week. A bill was presented. Bushie quashed it. "It would be too difficult to administer." Well, I'm sure it would be, for someone with the I.Q. of a marshmellow.
