This was beautiful!!! Powell bascially just smacked down the GOP, Bush's Supreme Court and the insanity of a permanent GOP majority!
I think the GOP and it's surrogates will no doubt try to smear the General now and in so doing will not only shoot themselves in the foot, but actually blow their own legs off! They are just that desperate and stupid!
My favorite quote from Powell: "Sen. McCain says he a washed-up old terrorist—then why does he keep talking about him?" Ouch!
I always believed Powell would make a great president, and these comments just cemented that belief. The man appears unable to align himself with either party, and THAT is something I understand completely. I also think that many Americans hold this "centrist" view and are sick and tired, like Powell, of the "polarization." McCain has tried to portray himself as such, but it just isn't convincing. I believe he is a REPUBLICAN, first and foremost, and will tow the party line when the chips are really down.
Douchebags like Pat Buchannan, George Will and Rush Limpcock are already accusing Powell of being an ungrateful black man who is only endorsing Obama because he's black.
Let's see how far these attacks on Colin Powell take them!
I am not surprised by the attacks. Powell's endorsement was a huge gain for Obama, and the Republican'ts were bound to get their panties in a twist. Yeah, let's draw the race card once again and do our best to polarize Americans with fear and hatred. That's what the Republican'ts are doing best these days. Trying to smear Powell is just plain stupid. They're digging themselves in deeper and deeper.
