Speaking of Aging Lesbians...

...or men that look like them, for those of you not at our Halloween party back in '06, here is a picture of yours truly as the incomparable Carmen Miranda, frolicking with the very, albeit delightfully so, naughty 'Officer Chris.'

BB- I could make a killer rug out of that "dress." Love the brows! Nice shade on the lips... what is that, a brick red... looks like the same on your nails. I hope you went with quality... OPI or Sally Hansen 10 day at the least!

Myyyyyyyyy! What BIG ARMS you have, Betty! No wonder I enjoy your hugs so much!

Thank you all, thank you...(blushing)

Yes, I did my own make-up for that, but there was no way Betty was shaving her ample eyebrows for one night of gender-bedning sport.

That make-up shit's really expensive, too!

Only men and stupid women pay full retail for makeup hun. If you shop around, you can always find Sally Hansen or Wet & Wild's top drawer (gotta love that brand name!) stuff on sale.

Sally Beauty Supply and Ulta have house brands which are as good as any of the big names, and they always have specials on things. If you're into black, red, and silver nail polish and eye shadow, get to Ulta NOW- all their Christmas gift sets and special colors are on sale... got some OPI blood red polish there for the price of the teenybopper crap from Walgreen's!

As for the brows... *sigh* I never thought I'd be giving lessons on this, but pale eye shadow or mascara can easily be used to visually enhance, shape, etc. the brows. Foundation can too, but I don't find it works as well on hair... you need something with a bit more adhesion. My best success has been with waterproof eyeshadow. It comes in every color under the sun, and doesn't go away until you're ready to make it go away. *IF* you can find light brown or tan mascara, that's the best of all to thin out the brows without ripping them out, but the only times I've seen that, it was about $12, and you have to look really hard at the brands which have an entire free standing display to find it.

Its so much easier being a polychromatic goth. Ya got black, black, black, f'in mountains of black.... then silver, burgundy, and blood red... end of story.

And I still want dibs on that dress if its still around... not to wear --even though I'm a polychromatic goth, I never wear those colors... not even in men's T-shirts or boxers. Make me look like I have jaundice.-- but to make into a very loud rug! *grin*

(Now had you something with more dusty rose, steel blue... that'd be a different story... but it also wouldn't be Carmen, 'eh?)

I did some of the shopping at Walgreen's and some stuff down in Boystown...that's where it was most expensive. They also tried to sell me some latex stuff to cover my eyebrows, but it was like $25.00 a bottle and I just wasn't that concerned about it.

I think I still have the dress somewhere around here and you're more than welcome to have it. I'm drop it off with SnarkAngel at the Granville Girls' favorite hang-out spot!

BB- great... and maybe I can meet up with the "Girls" sometime there too, Snark and I are trying to work it out. Tess and I tend to be the early to bed type, but I'm really gonna make an effort to be there this Friday, as my other nursing class starts Sunday, so this is my last "light" week until May.

Be thinking of what color and size trivet you'd like- I always offer to make a hot pad for anyone who donates something to me... if they donate a LOT, they get a rug, etc.

Boystown... wow, ouch! You made of money or something? Sometimes I stop by and get stuff on sale, but otherwise...

Like I said, there's always work arounds. Its also much easier if you just decide you're going for a given effect, and don't worry about how femme you'll look. Nothing against the gals who can pull it off- I'm in awe of them- but most of us just can't. Our noses, ears, Adams apples, etc., oh, I know, makeup can make them seem smaller, but good grief... you can drive on a square wheel too, but you'll save yourself a lot of trouble if you just decide you can live with a round one! Aerosmith not withstanding, most dudes just can't look like a day, and to try, it takes "White chicks" level special effects.

Let me reiterate though... Ulta and Sally are ****the*** way to go! Male, female, berdache, what ever... there's no reason to spend a million to look like a million!

Tess and I usually stop at the Ulta on Clark just south of Belmont for a date after she gets her weekly pain shot.
