Paul Newman: 1925-2008. We've Lost a Legend...and a very kind man, as well.

I've always said that Paul Newman was by far the most handsome man to ever grace film and Hollywood...he was indeed more than just a pretty face. He was a committed husband, father, philanthropist and just an all around good person, which was so rare in Hollywood, then and now. Rest in peace.

I hadn't heard!

Truly the end of an era.

He was my first serious "Hollywood" crush. LOL. Makes me laugh when I think about it, though, since he was 11 years older than my parents. But watching his older films, from the 1960's, always made me drool. Heh-heh. I think the only reason it took him as long as it did to win an Oscar was because he didn't play the Hollywood game. He was more content on his farm in Connecticut or driving a race car. My thoughts are with Joanne and his family. The man was truly remarkable.

In 1975 he made a movie called "The Drowning Pool." He was 50 years old then and there was one scene where he was in boxers...and man did he fill those out nicely! Snark, lingering over a picture of that, I truly knew I was gay--even at 11 years old! Yummm!

Oh yeah, I remember that one, too. It was a follow-up to another film ... "Harper," I believe.
